Walkway lighting along a Cypress Tanglewood greenbelt

Report a light out

A streetlight is out

Every streetlight in Tanglewood belongs to Southern California Edison — along the streets and throughout the greenbelts alike. Reporting one takes a minute, and Edison asks for a couple of details worth having ready first.

A streetlight at night, shown working and shown out An illustration of a streetlight over a walkway. With the switch on, the lamp glows and casts light on the path below. With the switch off, the lamp is dark and the path is unlit.

Working normally The lamp is lit and the walkway below is lit with it.

Report it to Southern California Edison

Edison owns and maintains the lighting throughout Tanglewood — the lights along the public streets and the lights across the greenbelts are all theirs. The Association does not repair them, so a report sent to the office only has to be passed along, which costs a few days.

What Edison will ask for

You can report it in a couple of minutes. Having these to hand makes it quicker, and makes it far more likely the right pole gets fixed:

  • The pole number — most poles carry a small metal tag with a number on it
  • The nearest street address
  • The closest cross street
  • What it is doing — fully out, flickering, or on during the day
A light on during the daytime counts too. A fixture stuck on in daylight is burning power around the clock and usually means a failed sensor. Edison wants to hear about those as well, and they are reported the same way.
Not a streetlight? Lighting attached to a building — a porch light, a garage light, a fixture on the Clubhouse or Cabana — is not Edison's. Those come to the Association, or to the homeowner if the fixture belongs to the home. Send a maintenance request and we will sort out which.
